17 year old released on bail after triple stabbings probe at Peterborough

A youth questioned by police after a triple stabbing in Peterborough has been released on bail. Cambridgeshire Police said today that a  17-year-old boy from Peterborough who was arrested on Sunday evening (18 August) on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) has been released on bail until 18 November.

An 18-year-old man remains in a critical condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, while a 17-year-old boy remains in a stable condition at Peterborough City Hospital.

No other arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information should contact police via Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s website using reference 35/60225/24. Anyone without internet access should call 101.”

The triple stabbings happened in the early hours of Saturday; police were called at about 12.20am with reports of violence in Freston, Paston.

An 18-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys were originally taken to hospital with stab wounds. One of the 17-year-olds later left hospital, but the two other men remain, one  in a serious condition.

“Officers are treating this as an isolated incident,” said the spokesperson.
