Rescue workers waded into a Cambridgeshire river last night after reports of a car being seen there. “Thankfully we were able to establish there was no one inside the vehicle,” reports East Cambridgeshire Police.
The car was spotted in the river on Putney Hill Road, Prickwillow near Ely.
A police response on their Facebook page added: “In the meantime we contacted the driver to confirm that nobody was harmed.
“A reminder to drive to the conditions of the road and ensure your vehicle is roadworthy.”
