Trains were blocked at Manea last night after what rail bosses called a “disturbance on the station”. East Midlands Railways reported: “There are trespassers on the railway now at Manea after a disturbance on the station.”

A police helicopter was called to check the railway line for any trespassers.

Late evening East Midlands said they had been allowed to open the line “reduced speed between Ely and Peterborough through the Manea area. Our trains should be able to start moving very shortly”.
