From Town Hall to The Embankment
Each year, the Mayor of Peterborough leads a vibrant procession from the Town Hall to the fairgrounds, marking the official opening of the historic Bridge Fair.
A Proclamation Since 1878
At The Embankment, the mayor reads a time-honoured proclamation urging fairgoers to “behave soberly and civilly”—a tradition that dates back nearly 150 years.
Civic Guests Join the Festivities
This year the Mayor Judy Fox was joined by members from one the Mayor’s Charities, The Peterborough Area Down’s Syndrome Group.
