A Cambridgeshire church is on a mission to identify mysterious ‘droppings’ discovered during routine cleaning.

Rosemary Westwell, a church stalwart at St Andrew’s, Witchford, believes a mystery creature is responsible for the “unusual deposits”.

She said: “Recently a bat survey was taken when no bats were seen. Previously, a bat survey had found pipistrels in the nave and long-eared brown bats in the belfry.

“Does anyone know what left these droppings? “

In the meantime, she says, kind volunteer cleaning ladies have stepped forward to come to the rescue and have cleaned up the church ready for the usual 10.00 a.m. Sunday service.

“We need more volunteers,” says Rosemary. “Can you help?

“We are looking for new members to join our volunteer cleaning team at St. Andrew’s Church Witchford.

“It is energetic, fun and will leave you feeling good – doing good for a good cause.”

And maybe, too, help her explain the origins of the ‘unusual deposits’.
