A man has been jailed for 16 years after being found guilty of five counts of assault on a male and three counts of buggery.

T Jay, 52, formerly known as Mark Badcock began sexually abusing a teenage boy in 1994 while his parents were on holiday has been jailed.

The boy’s parents had gone to Canada.

Jay had befriended both the victim and his family, eventually moving into their home in a South Cambridgeshire village and even attended doctor’s appointments with the boy and his mother.

He continued to sexually abuse the boy until August 1995.

After this, Jay drifted away from the family but one day in 2001, he called them and asked to meet up.

“Sexual abuse of children leaves serious psychological scars so I would like to applaud the bravery of the victim for coming forward and supporting us with a prosecution.”
