Arran Brown broke a man’s teeth and threatened to use a Stanley knife to kill his dog, a court heard. Brown, 32, got into an altercation with the man in Bascraft Way, Godmanchester, Huntingdon, on the morning of 23 October.

He threatened to kill the victim’s dog before punching the man in the face.

Brown pulled out a Stanley knife and threatened the victim, before lowering it and walking away.

Shortly before the attack, Brown had stolen £75 worth of food, including five gammon joints and two steaks, from the Co-op, in Ermine Street, Godmanchester.

Brown, of Stirling Square, Godmanchester, pleaded guilty to theft, actual bodily harm, possession of cannabis and possession of a knife in public and was jailed for two years and one month at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday (17 January).

Brown also admitted driving whilst disqualified and dangerous driving in relation to an attempt to evade police in Cambridge on 12 June 2023, when he drove at speeds of more than 60mph in 20mph zones.

He received a further disqualification from driving for four years and nine months.

DC Kieran Wickens, who investigated, said: “Brown clearly has no regard for the law, and his anti-social, violent, and dangerous actions will not be tolerated.

“This sentence reflects how seriously police, and the courts take this type of behaviour.”
