Two people have been charged for breaching a closure order made on a house in Wisbech on Friday following concerns about violence and anti-social behaviour. The full closure order was served on 49 St Michaels Avenue, Wisbech, on Friday (28 February), following a successful application at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT).

Irina Smigelskiene, 49, formerly of St Michaels Avenue, Wisbech, has been charged with breaching a closure order.

Dainius Kolojanskas, 50, formerly of St Michaels Avenue, Wisbech, has been charged with breaching a closure order and criminal damage.

The order, which is in place until 28 May, states the house is closed to everyone, including the legal tenant, except for emergency services, Fenland District Council, Clarion Housing, and their agents.

Failure to comply with the order is a criminal offence which could result in imprisonment for up to three months, a fine, or both.

PC Nicola Coaker, from the Wisbech NPT, said: “Over the past couple of months, we have received numerous calls from the community reporting incidents at the address involving the tenant and visiting individuals, such as violence and drunken behaviour.

“Throughout the duration of the order, we will conduct regular checks and arrest anyone found to be in breach of the order.”

The two people charged with breaching the closure order are due to appear in court later this month.
