Banyer Hall, Lady’s Drove, Emneth, a 16th century manor house, is tonight the centre of a murder probe.

The £900,000 home near Wisbech set in four acres is where the body of a woman in her 60s was discovered on Monday morning just before 7.30am.

A man, also in his 60s, remains in custody at King’s Lynn investigation centre where he is being questioned by detectives.

It has not been confirmed if the couple are related.

The house was sold in 2017 for around £600,000 and has been in the same ownership since then.

Norfolk Police are carrying out the investigation.

Viewers of the BBC ‘Escape to the Country’ were given a guided tour of Banyer Hall when it was offered for sale six years ago.

A couple looking to re-locate to Norfolk were shown Banyer Hall last – it was the ‘mystery house’ producers leave to last.
