David Newton, 69, has been charged with the murder of Una Crown in Wisbech in 2013.
Newton, of Magazine Close, Wisbech, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court this morning (16 April).
Magazine Close is off Magazine Lane where the body of 86-year-old Mrs Crown, a former sub postmistress, was found 11 years ago. She had been stabbed to death and her body set alight.
Mrs Crown was found dead by a family member on January 13, 2013.
