And Nicole Q., will represent England in the English Colleges Football Association (ECFA) 22/23 National Women’s Squad.

Kate B. completed her GCSEs at Impington Village College before choosing to stay on and study the Diploma Programme (DP) at Impington International College.

In addition to competing on the college’s netball team, Kate plays hockey through creative, activity and service (CAS), which all DP students participate in to complement their academic studies. Kate is playing for the AoC Sport England Colleges Women’s Hockey Squad for a second year running before she goes on to study Psychology at The University of Oxford.

Leanne Gibbons, assistant principal/ head of sixth form, said: “It is so important to not limit student choices at the age of 16.

“That’s why we ensure we enable our students to have multiple opportunities to continue studying or taking part in what they are passionate about.

“We are all so proud of Nicole’s and Kate’s achievements. It has been a joy to witness them develop their sporting skills during their time at the College.

“Their success at a national level is a testament to their hard work and commitment in training. Everyone at the college will be cheering them both on during their upcoming matches!”

Football scholar, Nicole Q., studies the International Baccalaureate (IB) Career-related Programme (CP) at the college, which enables her to combine the academic studies with specialist weekly coaching and training delivered by the Norwich City Football Club Regional Development Programme’s (NCFCRDP) UEFA licenced coaches.

Discussing her time at the college, Nicole Q., said: “I chose to study at Impington International College because it allowed me to keep my options open in terms of further studies and future career opportunities.

“The football scholarship allows me to develop academically, whilst honing my football skills with the regular training and matches.

“I hope to study multimedia sports journalism at university and being able to combine my politics studies with football training should help give me a well-rounded approach to my higher education learning.”

Impington International College gives students opportunities to combine specialist sports coaching with their academic studies.

The College has partnerships with leading national and regional sports teams including: Norwich City Football Club, Cambridge Handball Club, Rob Roy Rowing Club and more, providing students with up to six hours of professional coaching per week.
