Oprah Winfrey is, unusually, one of the stars of a Netflix epic, part of which is being filmed at Duxford in Cambridgeshire.
Six Triple Eight tells the true story of the only all-black all-female Women’s Army Corps’ 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

It is being directed by Tyler Perry and his film, Six Triple Eight, is being hailed as a celebration of the 855 women who formed part of the battalion.

Their work involved sorting through a backlog of undelivered letters to US personnel – three years’ worth!
In total they sifted and sorted more than 17 million letters.

The women’s work was considered vital in raising the morale among US personnel at a vital moment during the last war.
