To mark five years since the first Covid lockdown, Huntingdon Town Council and Huntingdon All Saints Church are inviting residents to take part in a simple act of remembrance ahead of the National Day of Reflection on Sunday 9th March 2025.

In the days leading up to Sunday, residents are encouraged to tie a white or yellow ribbon to the railings of All Saints’ Church, home to Huntingdon’s Covid Memorial Bench.

The National Day of Reflection is an opportunity to remember those who lost their lives since the Covid pandemic began, reflect on the sacrifices made and the lasting impact on our communities, pay tribute to health and social care staff, frontline workers, and researchers, and appreciate the volunteers and acts of kindness that supported so many during this time.

A spokesperson for Huntingdon Town Council said: “We hope that by adding ribbons throughout the week, the display at All Saints’ Church will grow as a visible sign of remembrance and community reflection. We encourage everyone to take a moment to participate in this act of tribute and unity.”
