A county lines drug dealer has been jailed after being stopped outside a police station in Cambridge.
On 9 February 2023, officers on patrol spotted a black Citroën DS3, known to be linked to drug activity, driving along East Road. As the vehicle turned onto Parkside, officers pulled it over and found Abdul Ali, 31, of Euston Street, Huntingdon, inside along with a woman.
A search of the vehicle uncovered mobile phones and £1,500 in cash. Further investigation revealed that the woman was concealing 35 wraps of cocaine and 32 wraps of heroin in her underwear.
Ali admitted to owning the drugs, and an investigation linked him to the ‘Dan’ drugs line, which operated between Cambridge and Huntingdon.
On 7 March, at Peterborough Crown Court, Ali pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs, possession with intent to supply cocaine, and possession with intent to supply heroin. He was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison.
Detective Constable Callum Fullwood, who led the investigation, said: “County lines dealers exploit vulnerable people to fuel their illegal trade and make money. We recognize the harm they cause in our communities and will continue to bring them to justice to make the county a safer place.”
