A man was arrested in Wisbech for making threats to kill, attempted strangulation, indecent exposure, three assaults on emergency workers and escaping lawful custody. The arrest was made after the man had entered the Nationwide Building Society in Wisbech Market Place yesterday at around 10.30am.

Staff were so taken aback by the man’s actions that when he left they locked the doors and dialled 999.

Police were quickly on the scene and arrested the man.
