Nearly a year after being ravaged by fire, The Rising Sun at Leverington near Wisbech has re-opened.

“Absolutely thrilled with being open again, but over the moon with how the pub looks,” said landlady Maggie Sharman.

Her brewery, Elgood of Wisbech, is delighted the pub has risen from the damage caused by the fire.

“A huge thank you to everyone for your patience and support during this time,” the brewery announced in a Facebook post.

“Landlady Maggie can’t wait to welcome you back to your local!. Come and enjoy great drinks, warm company, and the cozy atmosphere we’ve all missed.”

Opening Hours (for now):

Lunchtimes: Thursday – Saturday: 12–2ish

Evenings: Wednesday – Saturday: From 5pm

Sundays: 12–4

“Food isn’t being served just yet, watch this space for updates,” added the Elgood spokesperson.

Fenland pub damaged in overnight fire

It was in December last year that the fire broke out but thankfully everyone was evacuated with no serious injuries.
