A Cambridge drug dealer who was caught armed with a gun and a knife has been jailed. Neighbourhood officers were patrolling the city on the evening of 19 September when they spotted a man in a balaclava riding an electric pedal scooter.

The team attempted to stop the rider, but he made off before discarding the scooter and attempting to run away.

After a short scuffle, officers arrested 21-year-old Jermaine Rowe, in Argyle Street, and found a zombie knife in his waistband.

He was further arrested when officers found a viable firearm and ammunition in his bag as well as two bundles of class A drugs and £2,307 in cash.

At Cambridge Crown Court on Friday (22 November), Rowe was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison.
