Three talented actors from a Cambridgeshire college have created a powerful short film to support a free counselling and wellbeing support service for young people. The young actors are from the Impington International College Performance School and feature in the film “telling the stories of real young people facing some of the toughest challenges of their lives”.

The film has been released by Centre 33, the Cambridgeshire wide support service that offers help for young people from five centres across the county and are available six days a week.

Described as ‘a collaboration of compassion’, Centre 33 believes their winter campaign film “gives voice to the unseen young people who come to our drop-in”.

Centre 33 says they ask every young visitor to their drop-in centres ‘what brings you here today?’.

“It takes a lot of courage for a young person to reach out for help,” says Emma Halse of Centre 33.

“So, when they do, we listen.”

The Centre 33 drop-in service supports young people (up to age 25) with their emotional and practical needs.

They work across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and drop-ins are free, confidential, and available without appointment.

No problem is too big, or too small. Last year Centre 33 saw a 33% increase in enquiries and worked closely with nearly 4,000 young people.

“But many more young people still need our support,” said Emma.

The new film uses real life examples to highlight the support you provide.

One example:

“If it weren’t for Centre 33, I don’t know where I’d be today. They were there for me when I felt like no-one else was.”

Emma said the film ‘What Brings You Here Today?’ has brought to life “the untold stories of three young individuals. Through the art of drama, we have opened a window into their worlds”.

Centre 33 says they are thankful to Impington International College Performance School for their collaboration “which has allowed us to amplify the voices of those who often go unheard.

“Centre 33 were able to help the young people whose stories feature in this film. But there are many more that need help,” said Emma.

“We cannot do this without you. Please donate today to help young people reach the support they need. Together we can help young people to live happier and more fulfilling lives.”

By donating just £10, you can help provide a safe space for young individuals to share their feelings and find support. Your generosity will help us continue offering a safe space for those in need.
